Neutral Drama
This project began as a full reworking of an existing home—interior and exterior—designed to support the pace of a busy family and the rhythm of frequent gatherings. The plan was opened and simplified, allowing spaces to move easily into one another. Entertaining feels natural here, with a fluidity that accommodates a full house without strain.
Practicality is built in, but never overemphasized. Individual mudroom lockers, integrated dog bowls, a discreet charging station in the kitchen—each detail considered, each one in its place. The aesthetic is clean but not stark. Neutral tones keep the palette grounded, while black-stained built-ins and furnishings introduce contrast and depth. The balance holds throughout.
In the primary bedroom, that restraint softens further. Pale gray linens, stained cabinetry, a subtle shimmer underfoot, polished nickel catching the light. The same language, carried into a more subtle register. The result is a home that works hard without feeling busy—structured, calm, and fully attuned to the way this family lives.
