Vintage Allure
As Leonardo Da Vinci aptly said, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” Located on the top floor of a historic Chicago three flat, this Lincoln Park family's home is a vintage enthusiasts dream come true. Our clients saw through the formerly cluttered space and were eager to pare it down to its authentic state. This directive was achieved by using a sophisticated color palette throughout, installing herringbone flooring, and selecting one-of-a-kind furnishings that add interest without overwhelming the space. The classic custom galley kitchen and butlers pantry were designed to be streamlined and highly functional. Every detail, including the floor plan was reimagined, secret pantry doors are hidden inside the paneling, custom doors were made to mimic the original entry doors and materials and finishes were carefully selected to stand the test of time. The juxtaposition of the modern fireplaces, lighting, furnishings and the original bones adds to the tension between old and new.
